Inquiring about working for Covenant-My husband drove over 17,300 miles in 3 weeks and walked off the job when we were paying for everything out of our pocket and drove a truck with holes in the tires and the seat tied on with an old seat belt and on and on. We were on our own with no help or trainer just out of trucking school-deliver all our loads on time-but with bad equipment and no support-just lucky that my husband has drove over 10 years ago and is able to back this truck in anywhere-I sure could not with 6 weeks training. Covenant is the only one that will take us both together where we do not have to go separately and really the only one that will hire us since we have on 17,300 miles to show for employment-we will probably never get the pay that is owed us since we were told this company cannot pay their bills in Kansas were we live and are going broke and they cannot pay their drivers. Afraid to go with any other company since we were out over 3 weeks with no money in this nightmare. Really found out what trucking was like. If it had not been for other truckers on the road we would have never made it.

We have had alot of students have to make a choice between Covenant and others. The only strudents that have returned recently were from the blue comapany. They got stuck on the Dollar General route because that was the only place to stick them to get their road traing. Didn't like it much I guess.
If Covenant will train you together, get after it! In a few months teams are going to be a huge plus. After you get some real OTR under your belts, you can make a choice. Who knows, you may become Covenant lifers. I have driven for worse.

Determine your needs and desires. Understand that all will not be fullfilled. Talk to the recruiters. Understand that they are spewing you the company line. It's what they are told to say, and it may not be 100% complete. Talk to drivers about their experiences with a particular company, and other companies that they may have driven for. Understand that your experience with them could be slightly different.

Go to a truckstop. Talk to drivers of the company your interested in. But talk to a few, some may have attitude problems.Every Company has it's good & Bad points.Go with Werner and no log book worries, All done on Qualcom. That's important to some. Schneider has a lot of terminals to park, fuel ,shower, eat ect.So does Swift.Do you want Solo? or Team? Think Carefully, Make a choice,AND STICK WITH IT! Skull
