Well, lookie who has come back!!! I would like to apologize for my long absence first.
It was not of my own choice, it was caused due to a drunk driver. I was walking down the side walk and some idiot in a Ford LTD crossed three lanes, and hit me at an estimated speed of 40 miles per hour. After a little flight over the car, I landed [somewhat] alive, and was transported to the hospital.
The injuries were bad, but not as bad as they could have been. Broken hips on both sides, shattered both bones of my lower left leg, but oddly enough, no internal injuries.
Now, significantly later, I have returned now that things have settled down some.
At this point, I am not going to be going into the trucking industry. The last few weeks I've been trying to do a little riding with a freind in his truck, and it is just a hassle to get up in the truck, and trying to get out is dang near as bad.
So, I've taken a job as a wrench turner at a local diesel truck repair shop. It is tough work, but I've had worse, and the pay is good enough for a person to earn a livin' at.
While I am not going to be behind the wheel of any trucks, I'll still be doing a fair amount of work with them, and dealing closely with the people who do operate them. I'm not trying to say I've a right to be here, but I'd say working on a truck is almost as important as driving one!!! Much like driving a truck, if it isn't repaired correctly, somebody could die in an accident. I see it as a pretty important part of the circle of trucking.
In my personal life, things could be better, but I figure a guy can't ask for everything!
Is the gang still here???
