I got a speeding ticket about 3 weeks ago 82 in a 60 MPH zone. The fine was $195 I sent them a money order for $205. Before everybody thinks WHAT AN IDIOT,I seen on good morning america and read it on the internet twice that if you pay a little extra and tear the refund check up when you get it the ticket doesnt go to the state and go on your driving record. Because it insnt considerd settled till you cash the refund. Have any of you other members tried this ? How long would it take before I could get a copy of my driving record from Austin to see if this worked? ;D

You need to immediately call the court and try to get money order back. Not only is that one of the dumbest ideas floating around about speeding tickets but you have just pleaded guilty to a serious CDL violation. A speeding ticket for 15mph+ along with a list of other violations is classified as serious. If you receive two serious violations in three years your CDL license will be suspended. When you report this to your company or insurance they will not be happy. Your personal insurance will also take a big jump. If you can get the plea changed email me. Speeding Ticket Central

Other than the immediate damage this speeding ticket is going to do to your driving record, you have to know that your future pay is going to depend on keeping a clean driving record today. Drivers on the other end of the process are fighting to keep tickets off thier records so as to keep driving and speeding thier butts off.
I have a relative that killed 6 children in a school bus accident when his bull wagon struck it going at an estimated 75 mph...he had been slowing down for awhile.
After all the legal wrangling, he got to keep his license....he is still out there driving over 100 mph at times. Is this cousin someone you want to share the road with?

No, This is JUST the reason why I get irritated at these goobers in the Pre paid legal booths who seem to pander to this type of "driver". They are not as bad as they used to be. The "testimonials" really used to get me fired up! There are some drivers who just plain need to face the music sooner rather than later. For this relative, the costs were minor in comparison to those who really paid the price. I'll bet you really have a tough time at family pic-nics! ;D My family seemed to be full of recreational drunk drivers! ... of course if those darn cops were after "real" criminals, they would have made it home fine.. This Relative is in the family because my Uncle married a woman and this "cousin" came with the deal. He sticks to his real fathers side of the family. He did work at a place I turned wrenches at for awhile but he didn't last.
I have watched the fast boys pull into a truck stop after passing a line of traffic miles long, they should put the pre paid legal booth at the opening of the truck stops game room. That seems to be where they spend thier sleeper time at!

It looks like it worked in the city of Wilmer TX. I called AAA insurance for a quote. And the lady asked for permission to check my driving record. And came back on the line and said congratilations you have a clean driving record. The city of Wilmer never did send me a $10 refund check. But I'm not complaning

Oh, it's going to come back to haunt you. Just give it some time.
It is like taking a student to the DPS and watching them exit the building in handcuffs....sooner or later it is going to tap you on the shoulder and say "Remember ME"?
Now, why don't you slow your butt down?

Well TruckerTom got me to thinking there might be a warrant out for me. I didnt think so since I already changed the address on my drivers licence. So I called the police dept.and they said I had to talk to the lady that handles warrants. She said she didnt have one on me.Then she transfered me to the court clerk, after giving her my drivers licence number twice she found it and told me the date it was paid. And the last words she said to me Quote: and it never left the court. I got another speeding ticket about 3 weeks after this one. They always come in pairs about every 4 years for me.
Fozzy looks like its down to you and me.This board is dead.

If you get enough speeding tickets, you aren't going to need a warrant. Companies will stop employing you.
You need to slow down. Too many tickets and you become un-insurable.

There is just nothing worse than an Ex-Trucker pushing a broom at a truckstop. Dreaming of following bullhaulers into a dreamland that never existed!
We the willing, led by the unknowing are doing the impossible for the ungreatful. We have done so much, for so many, with so little, that we are now qualified to do absolutely anything with nothing.
