Hello folks, I have a question that I hope someone can help me with, here goes......
I have a 3 year old daughter and a 2 year old son. The mother of my children and I have seperated and she now lives in PA with my children. She has married an OTR truck driver that she only knew for a couple of weeks. My question is do you think it is safe and appropriate for my children to be taking trips fron carlisle pa to boston in a tractor trailer? I hope that a veteran driver can help me. it wouldn't bother me so much if it was just a 10 minute ride in the truck, I'm sure that it would be fun for the kids but I just worry about theses trips they are taking.....PLEASE HELP....
Thank you for your anticipated help

I personally don't feel this is safe because the kids would not have carseats. I dont mean to add to your fears but an accident in a tractor trailer is amplified by the weight and also that there are numerous flying objects in the sleeper. I have had a few drivers tell me they have been hit by their TV etc during a crash. Not a good situation for a small child. I always wear my seatbelt while in the passenger seat or at the wheel. Unfortunatly, its a chance I take sleeping behind my teammate.

I'd be curious to know how this situation turned out.....
But... I'd be less worried about the children taking occasional rides than that the driver is basically a stranger to your ex.

Hi all,
Just an update, I called the Robbie Wood Headquarters in Alabama and spoke to a woman in the safety department. First I informed her of who I was and the situation and also informed her that I was recording our conversation. I explained my concerns and she assured me that she would handle the situation. She didn't seem too happy to find out about two toddlers riding in the truck.
Anyways, thanks all for your replys
