I've only driven a 10 and 15 spd. What I was wondering was how to shift between the 8/9, 10/11 & 12/13th gears both up and down. When I shift into 8th do I push cluch move the splitter and release clutch to get to 9th or do I have to pull the stick out of the hole? downshifting: in 13th push clutch move to neutral change splitter, rev engine and put stick back in the hole or can the downshift be done without moving the stick?
thanks for the help, I've got a driving test tomorrow with one of these trannys.

Tim;
It has been a while since I have handled a 13 speed. I use a 18 speed now. Pretty much a glorified 13 with the ability to split the lower half.
To make up and down shifts with the splitter, there is generally no need to use the clutch.
Move the splitter to the position you wish, release the throttle and then re-apply.
This will relieve the pressure on the gears and the "Back half" of the transmission will complete the shift.
Hope this helps;
Pat

When shifting the 13 speed, it is as easy as an 8 speed. Once you go from 4th to 5th, there will be a thumb button, shift it forward, lift off the gas for 1 second, then back on. You will be now in 9th. Shift that thumb button back, double clutch, shift down, now you will be in 10th. And so on. When you need to downshift, put the thumb button forward, press on the clutch, then you will be in, on a traditional 8 speed, you will be in 8th on the 13 speed.
