Seems like from all the research i've been doing the training period after you get hired from a company is the hardest part. If this is so can anyone give me any advice as to get through this period.

Aside from driving under all conditions, mountains and such. There is also a lifestyle change, and that change can be too abrupt for many. One thing you must do is to keep your eye on the prize, and part of this is knowing what the prize is.
I have had quite a few students that really did not know what they were getting into because thier trucking reality was based on some fictional movie starring Chuck Norris, Sly Stallone or others. I tell them the truth going in; they are in for a lifestyle change. They are going to be using public toilets. Cops are going to help them run out of hours by stalling them with an inspection....and then tell the driver that they cannot park in the scale parking lot even though the driver is required by law to sleep NOW.
But for all the hassles, there are plenty of sunsets. Hours and hours of sorting through troubles, thinking about life and the meaning of it. Many times you get a real good honest look at where we are headed as a society, and some of what you see is not good. I have written so many songs on the road, and I forget them as soon as I pull in my own driveway. So there is a life in trucking that most people never get to see. It is alot like being a hobo and getting paid good for it.....except there is a delivery time that has to be met.

Well, it used to. Now the beauty is in training Americans to drive that have lost jobs in the last few years, never so see them agian.
I called a married couple that I trained a few months ago and they are driving for Covenant (no plug intended). But they are happy with it. Earlier today they were coming south out of Buffalo headed for Arizona. So I told them to try the burger at the Voss Truck Port on I-44 in Cuba Mo.
I swear they are having a second honeymoon on the road together. Maybe one day my wife and I of 28 years will hit the road together and have our first one! LOL!
