New to the trucking industry and have been offered a job with USA Truck following completion of CDL training. Anyone know anything about the company or have any major gripes that make them diferent from any other company?

As an instructor, I have a problem with downing a company just off the cuff. There are many of my ex-students that have returned for a visit just raving about the company they went to, and many hate the same company.
Get all the info you can, and remember that you will not finish your career in trucking with the same company you started with. The more experience you get, the better offers you can field. There is one company I know of that is trying to lure one of our instructors back to work with bonuses and higher pay.

Thanks Truckertom. The site bamsden referred me to has nothing nice to say about any trucking company. I'm beginning to think it's all in your attitude. I don't expect to be home every weekend as a rookie driver, but I would expect the company to be honest.

One thing that you have to know going in is that every company needs drivers bad.........So you are going into an industry where the demand is huge. You may hire on with a company that has 150 trucks sitting, waiting on drivers.
It is like grabbing onto a moving train in alot of ways, and yes the students attitude is a huge part of it. And some go through school expecting it to be a chapter of some Truck Driving Movie they watched as a child.
It is what you make of it in a lot of ways, but the demand for truckers is huge. How big is the demand for baseball umpires? LOL!

The difference between most trucking companies is the color of their trucks. Most everything else is close to the same.
