Can anyone give me some info on them? I'm checkin out the website. Everytruck job has listed for their felony policy that they will consider. This might be good since all the backround checks being done on my fiancee' is saying he has a felony when it is a misdemenor! Great thing is is that there nearest terminal is only 85 miles away!

i have driven for watkins shepard for the last 10 months after attending their in house school in missoula.
w/s has about 500 trucks going otr with about 60 of these being in the flatbed division (i pull a flatbed). the other 440 or so pull vans. almost all the vans are dry box, but the denver terminal does haul some reefer loads of meat into the southeast.
the trucks are a mixture of volvo and freightliner columbias (although the flatbed folks have some freightliner classics, some w900 kws, and one pete). engines are cummins in the volvos and detroits in the freightliners; all the trucks have 10 speeds; all the company trucks are speed limited to 65 mph. the trucks are maintained pretty well; there are company shops in missoula, mt, helena, mt, santa fe springs (la), and dalton, ga (north of atlanta).
van freight is mostly furniture/carpet with other loads as necessary to get the trucks into position to haul more furniture/carpet. flatbed loads are lumber out of the pacific northwest (surprise, surprise) and whatever can be found for a back haul.
i find w/s to be a very pleasant company to work for. the director of safety (the boss of every driver) works hard to know you personally and is a great source of help when you have questions or aren't sure what to do next. the w/s safety policy is such that nobody in the company can compell you to drive if you feel the conditions are unsafe. the dispatchers don't hound you, and if you're going to be late for whatever reason, simply update the customer and the company on your new eta (note: if you're not getting the job done, expect to start looking for a new job soon. if you are getting the job done, there are no repercussions for missing an appointment).
a high percentage of drivers have been with the company for multiple years. i am pretty happy here, and hope to be around for years to come myself.
i'll be glad to answer any other questions you might have...
