I live in N.E. Arkansas. Have been in a factory since 18 an management the last 11 yrs. Recently lost my job three wks. ago. Always have been interested in this industry. Have an uncle that drives for Yellow, he loves it. First, have a D.W.I. on my record that is 5 yrs. old. With this should I even attempt to find a job. Also cannot really afford the training but do not want to be stuck with a bad company because they paid for the schooling. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks for this great web-site.

First, have a D.W.I. on my record that is 5 yrs. old. With this should I even attempt to find a job. If this is the only thing on your record you should be able to find a job in trucking, it may not be a dream company (LOL, if there is such a thing). But remember you will not be able to go to Canada with it on your record. And that also will limit the companies that will hire you. As far as training goes just check into all the companies that offer it, or you will have to take out a student loan and pay for it and hope you can get into a company that will pay it back for you, or get into one thats pays enough (if you fine one that pays enough let us all know so we can come join you) so you can pay it back yourself.
