I finished my 7 week course at NTTS in Buffalo, NY in late August. I passed the NYS road test the next day and went to the H.O. Wolding orientation at the Liverpool NTTS facility just after Labor Day. I apparently passed the written and field test as the company offered me a job three days later (strange that they didn't tell me how well). I accepted, and I am now waiting for my driver-trainer to call me with the details of what is next. Over the past two months I spoke with a half-dozen HOW drivers that all felt it is a good company. I will be doing the Northeast Regional runs (heavy loads of paper, water, dog food , or whatever else). It sounds like a challenge, and hopefully the weight will help with the New England snow. I am very excited about finally getting out in a truck and going somewhere other than around the city.

So how do you like the old Werner Wagon? I have had a couple of old studnets that hated it there and they were sucked in by the paperless logs themselves.
But I know that just about every student makes his own luck with a company.

Truckertom, Im not with werner anymore, left werner to go back to school.I spent a year with them and all in all it was fine I didnt have any problem with werner. Now training was terrible my driver trainer made my first weeks in trucking very unbearable but i got through it. It was tough enough to try and adjust to a job like over the road and the trainer made it so much worse but he passed me and i got my truck. After that it was so much easier(i thought)i was just so glad to get out of his truck.Paperless logs are just a recriuting tool nothing more nothing less. One cool thing with paperless,DOT never asked to see it.DOT had to go through to much stuff to actually see it by the time they call werner have it faxed to where ever DOT is etc.Now im trying to get back into trucking but only has a seasonal driver so my choices are limited. My license is clean no tickets, no accidents, no violations.Credit to my trainer with werner. He knew how to drive safe he just didnt know how to do anything else (like brush his teeth, take a shower but his truck was always nice and polished up(pete379). School helped too,i went to ntts here in buffalo and took there 15 week course. It was 602 total course hours. Buffalosnow

Skull,
right now im not with any company, with winter i run my snow removal company here in buffalo.im looking for seasonal where i could drive in spring and summer and take winter off so i can be free to continue and grow with my bussiness.Ive found a few compaines that offer seasonal so right now still looking but ill be going back to the road this coming spring. TMC told me they offered seasonal and swift does too,so ill make my decision in the spring time.not to crazy about going to swift but my choices are really limited here. When its not snowing im looking for companies that can offer what i need.
have a safe drive everyone buffalosnow
