Hi all. I just got hired on with Werner and am going to orientation next week in Denver. I read a few things on here about Werner, but not alot. Iwas just wondering what your thoughts on Werner were. havn't heard too many bad things.(compared to most of the others anyway)
Also I graduated on the 7 of Agust so I havn't driven in a couple of weeks. Do you think this will be a problem. I'm worrying about it a little.
Anyway, thanks for your help and input.

Rickey, A recent graduate of my school went to Werner and came back one day telling us of a bad experience with the "paperless" log. A DOT officer demanded to see his logbook, and refused to look at the computer to see his hours. So, he had to take out a regular logbook and fill out the last seven days based on the computer data. I hope that not all DOT officials are as bad as that. (Because the paperless system is experimental, it is my understanding that an official has the authority to demand your log in written form. )

Sounds like a trucker story to me. The only time that a paper log must be used is if the system is down. The driver can send all the information via fax if the officer insists on seeing something on paper. There are regulations that govern this in the FMCSR and there are carriers that use onboard recording devices other than the satellite system.
