I spoke with a rep from Schneider today regarding my pre-hire. They offered two route options for my area. OTR or the "Specialized Division", which means hauling crated and uncrated glass on a flatbed trailer. Also, I would have to tarp and secure the load (for which they pay an extra $0.02 per mile--strange that it is not per occurance). As a perk, I would be home more often than OTR.
Does this sound like a good job? Can anyone offer any insight into glass and/or flatbed hauling?

Skullitor,
Are you OTR or in the specialized division? I am also curious about what you think of Schneider's medical benefits. From what I read on the company website, it does not look very good.

Schneider has exellent medical, Swift has poor medical, But Werner has the best "BLUE CROSS". OTR has better trucks usually Hi Rise Cobdo's. Good Luck
