Run as far and as hard away from this Company, they will make your life a living hell. I was with this company exactly 3 months before they terminated me.
There lease program isn't the best either, run away from that too.

OOIDA has filed a class action suit against C.R. England for voilations of the "Truth in leasing law" . on the behalf of the Owner Operator's. The case is pending in Federal Court........... Would not even think about working for C. R. England, ........Look at their pay rates ..........That all you need know, .........Low Low mileage rates and a very bad reputation...........They can't all be wrong. There are to many companies that pay a whole lot better than C. R. England.
As for Buying a truck! Buy it from a dealer and finance it through a bank, that has NO strings tried to the carrier that you lease on with. ...Then you are a real "Owner Operator" not a Slave to the carrier. ..........leasing a truck from the carrier is a NO WIN Deal !
If you can't walk away, and take your truck with you, then your NOT a true Owner Operator! Your just another victim of the carrier's greed!

I'm not going into details why C.R. England terminated me, thinking about it is giving me a migraine.
Cougar, i agree with what OOida did to C.R. England, England had it coming. They shelled out alot of money for that main terminal they have in Salt Lake CIty, instead of buying some decent running trucks. The Truck that i was assigned too, i had to put in the shop 6 different times for various problems. Believe this or not, the truck i had was a 6 month old 2003 Frieghtliner Century Class S/T, the previous driver that had it drove the stuffings out of it when i got it.
I later found out from the mechanics that they have had problems with the newer model freightliners. Sad as it may sound, that is what i found out.

I feel people who get screwed but these lease programs just as I view the people who buy tons of junk bonds or play the lotto to win their fortunes. The majority of the people "screwed" by these lease scams are brand new super trucker wannabes, who have little to NO experience with trucking at all. I think OOIDA ion this one is just grandstanding and making noise.
On the junk trucks comment; Trucks when new are a bigger pain in the butt than ANY of the older "clunkers" that I've ever driven! I had a BRAND NEW Freightliner Classic that within the first two months blew practically EVERY seal in the drive train and every wheel. It wasn't the trucking companies fault. Its part of trucking. I had a Pete that would mysteriously shut down with NO warnings. I ended up in Lubbock Texas for a day and a half while they put gold pins in one of the cannon plugs.

Lets just say they wanted me to drive 10 hours more than what the DOT allows. In a sense, they were driving me 20 hour days, 4 hours sleep., no more no less.
END OF DISCUSSION!!!!!!

It has been slow here since the changes. I have gone weeks without seeing a new post.
I heard that England is going to try to force its new drivers to lease.
