Hi to all! Well I've decided to take the plunge and get my CDL. But I need a little help from you all. First of all I'm from So Cal and the driving schools are a plenty out here, seems like most are CDL mills, with short programs, but I guess they have their merits with some. Anyways, the school I'm looking at is California Career School in Anaheim CA. Their program is 6 weeks,240 hours, 60 hours drive time. It breaks down to 20 hours range skills and 40 hours street skills. What do you all think about this? I've looked at the PTDI website and there are no certified courses in California, so this school is not certified. When I talked to the admissions director she said that they train the military. Not to sure what that would mean to me since I'm not in the military.I'm set to visit them on Monday, but I would really like any help you all could give me!

Ask them which company recruiters come to there school, that might give you an idea if any companies hire from that school. Hope this helps

Won't it be great when truck driving becomes recognized as a "trade"? Then there will be an apprenticeship, and standards that are recognized.
