Hello everybody,
I have a few options if I go with company training
Werner Swift England Millis Transfer
If I go with private training I would have to pay $2500. I would go on weekends and keep my current job. Thanks alot for any information.

IF you can attend weekend classes. get you'r CDL and slowly enter the field, that is the path that I'd suggest. The total immersion or "sink or swim" of the unemployed person attending training just adds to the stressful situation. If you attend school and find that its really not something that you'd rather do, you can simply resume your present job and not lose all that you have acquired there.

Imich391; there are several ways to pay for school without digging in your pocket. You can try to get funding through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). You can look into this at your local unemployment office. When you choose a school to attend for training; make sure it is a PDTI certified school. Most companies that hire student drivers, hire from these schools. Check this website to find out what schools are PDTI certified. www.ptdi.org/If you were to choose company paid training; remember you will be obligated to a company for at least a year. The companies you selected for training are decent with the exception of CR England. Most of the info posted on these forums about England has been negatiive. Go safely; see you on the big road!

If anyone has a Vo tech school in their state Tennesse does, you can get a cdl for about 1100 bucks. The school last about 12 weeks or so they r usually full.

Werner kick starts people's training through MTC in MO, but I do not know if they continue training afterwards. The downside is you go through a CDL mill. I do not know of anyother expenses that you incurr for this program. If your interested in werner give them a call, they will tell you if they finish your training or if you have to adapt or die. In the end it is your choice so do what you think is right. In your researce do not talk to recruiters ask for personnel managers which will give more reliable info.
