I live about 60 miles north of western truck school. I am in the process of checking them out. I would be interested in any information that anyone has about this school.

Well they werent very good in 1983 when I was there! ;D I'm just kidding, If I remember correctly they are a member of the PTDI and "could" be a decent school. I'm no real believer in the RE-certification process of this group nor their seeming inability to do any kind of spotchecks on thier "standards", but they (Western) have been in business for decades. Do you have any employment choices or pre-hires lined up? When I was there I had a ball, they had all cabovers (1960's and 70's varieties) and mainly used 28' trailers. We did have a 40 footer too..that thing was long! LOL.. I took my test in downtown Sacramento at NOON! in a 1968 Peterbilt cabover... Now they have obviously gotten new stuff as there was no standards (or even CDL's) in those days...Just brought back some memories. Fozzy

I just called the PTDI headquarters this morning to verify what their website shows, that there are NO PTDI certified schools in California The school that I will be attending California Career School in Anaheim. It has a 240 hour course that meets the guidelines of PTDI though. I visited four schools in So Calif before deciding. Good Luck!
