Squirrel, I somewhat know how you feel being nervous about to start something totally new. I've always wanted to drive a truck but never really got the nerve to truly pursue it. So now at 43 guess what I'm doing? I'm sure your friends at school and instructors are happy for you and will miss you too. But hey, you're a success story and you're going to be meeting new people and making more friends. You'll probably see some of your old classmates down the road. And I'm sure that as time goes by and you get more experience as a driver you'll be making decisions just the way your instructor taught you. He was a new driver at one time And by all means, do what Missliz said, keep us posted as to how it goes for you on the road

That's Fozzie, not me I start 5/10 and this is nothing new for me, I'm just returning after a 13 yr sentence in a flourescent hell. Besides I need to get over there and kick Country1 in the pants and collect my free coffee By the end of the month you should have 2 perspectives on the Millis Training Program.

I went to an 8 week course. Found out real quick that I hadn't learned jack sheot from it too.

I'm currently going to a 10 week school (IITR in Oregon). Normally the class is 4 straight 5 day weeks but I choose the weekend class so I could keep my regular job. I found that the weekend classes are awesome cause it gives me more time to study and for the info to sink in. I've taken other college courses in the past that are crammed into a small period of time and none of the info stuck with me. I feel like I'm actually learning in the weekend classes. It's one thing to just memorize the answers to questions and get your CDL ticket, but another to actually know what you're doing and be a safe driver.

Fozzy, I offer a huge attaboy to the din of cheers. You will make a fine addition to the trucking industry.
"Over the past 5 months, I've made some lifelong friends."
It has been strange reading that again because we have been having students meeting in class and going on to becoming a team opperation at carriers. I actually had two of my students get married (yes man and wife, you never know nowdays). But class unity is something that really helps everyone, they encourage each other and after that much encouragment by your fellow students, you hate to give it up and move on.
