dear sue if you signed a contract or kept your receipt and any written offer ie you will pass, that guys butt is green. try talking to him once more,if no results sugest that you might contact the better business burea to investigate a refund due to broken contract or false advertising.you can be sure he won't want anybody investigating the claim particularly since he rec. goverment funding. Before you speak with him again hop online and seek out the consumer fraud division in your state, found in the state gov.webpage usually under business or consu,er affairs.
don't you dare let him get away with it or prevent you from passing your test.
sometimes the soft touch will not work... it is your life don't be afraid to play hardball if you have too.

Sue
Complain to the state that has given him his certification in the first place. One he gets wind of that, I bet he changes his tune. If that doesn't get it done, call the better business bureau.

Hmmmmm? Wait a second I would NEVER recommend a school or training center which GUARENTEES that a student will pass the skills tests. While I do believe that a school SHOULD offer some type of remedial training, there is just no way that a school can train 100% of students to pass the CDL skills test. Our school had a GREAT sucess rate for students passing the CDL Skills tests the first time. We DID fail students however. We also were forced in some instances to tell these students that they just were not going to be ready in the near future to pass the skills test in a combination vehicle and suggested that they go for the class "B" and get some experience driving a large vehicle. The fact is that not everyone CAN pass the CDL skills test. To be honest, that's a part of the draw to the business. I myself have sat in an office with more than one heartbroken student who just COULDN'T do this. It's a huge bummer for both the instructor AND the student. We've even had people who already HAD their CDL's who did not pass our course! They were just in NO WAY ready to do this job. Fozzy

Hi Everyone I can assure you all that I have no intention of allowing him to get away with anything. There's a hotline at DMV just for truck driving school complaints. As for letting him stop me no way! I did very well in every other skill but alley docking. As it was I for every 10 tries I only got it 2 times. This tells you right there I need more practice. If I had problems in the other skills I would say OK maybe I'm not cut out to do this. The facts are I could do everything but and do it well. My husband does allow me to drive his truck on runs, he has said no to the alley docking because it's a company truck and it's larger than what I've been learning on (read day cab here) with a 53 ft. trailer... just a little bigger than what I used to practice with. I understand this plus there's no place to practice. By the way I know that his guarantee of my passing are just a marketing ploy. To pass the test I must take the test. I will find a way to "get it " to click in my brain. I have read every suggestion on alley docking and I'm grateful for the imput. I will try to put them to good use.

Things don't change any.New people same complaints. I,ve stated it before and I'll write it again!A person does not learn to drive truck getting three weeks behind the wheel an hour at a time and watching other people make mistakes so they can make the same ones. It takes time to learn to drive. Here is a simple formula. GOOD INSTRUCTION + PRACTICE + (TIME) ==QUALITY
Keep at it

If your refering that I only had a couple hrs of training think again. I did have 1 on 1 instruction, my problem is alley docking. If you read my post you would see I can do everthing else. I do go out with my husband and drive. I have to alley dock to pass my driving test, for some reason it's not clicking and it's not for the lack of trying. If you read my post you would have seen that also. I do agree you must practice unfortunately the owner feels otherwise. By the way his daughter suggested that I should wear a mini skirt for my test. I did not nor would I. I want this license on my terms and that does not include using my body. I worked d**ned hard to get my permit, I took those test on my own. I worked very hard to earn the money to pay for for my classes. Please do not pass judgement on me for you don't know me. I'm here because the people here are helpful. They allow those of us that need help to tap into their knowledge and experience. For which I'm most grateful.

Yes but if you make them drive more that an hour.....they may sweat through the seat! LOL! I had one the other day that just soaked the seat....this is with the AC on! The next student driving was mad about having to set in the other students soup! So I handed him a paper towel and he asked "What is this for? To dry the seat off?" and I said "No, it is to whipe your tears away!"
Oh, I love my job! Do you suppose there are truckstops in heaven?

GMC Did you get that alley dock mastered? I was able to get the CDL backing tests completed and got my CDL, but failed the course I was in. Failed all 3 of our class backing tests, the course backing tests were much stricter (narrower alleys, ziz zag backing, narrower 100ft alley) So, I am repeating the course. I'm excited, because I am finally able to see what I couldn't see before when backing THE DRIFT Right now we are still just doing the straight line stuff, but if I can see it now, then the harder stuff won't be so hard. Backing is definately a skill! Basic instruction can be given, but until you can "see it" all the instruction won't help. Time, patience and LOTS of practice
